I know of 2 preemies. One is my step-daughter K-bug and one is my dearest friend Twinkle Toes
(Let me preface that I was not there when K was born. So this is all hearsay of what I was told.)
K was born 3 months premature. Her mom had complications from her pregnancy, obviously, but had no idea about it until it was almost too late. Her cervix had dilated before it was time. The dr's had put her, basically, upside down to help with the gravity to keep K in longer, so that her lungs could develop more. I don't know the events leading up to that point, but Snuggles was there the entire time. So k-bugs mom, K, had k-bug vaginally and they took k-bug to the NICU. There she lived for 3 months and, thankfully, had no real problems. (other than the lungs being under developed.) I see pictures of her all the time when she was really little and it's amazing that the dr's have all these medical advances. To date, k-bug is a normal, happy and healthy 6 yr old and you would never know she was a preemie.
I'm not going to speak for little miss twinkle toes, so you'll have to go over there and check it out for yourself!
