Ryan has been trying all week to get his daughter down here for Labor Day weekend. Well, today is Thursday and she (the mom) deceided to text Ryan back, why they don't use the phone is beyond me, but I guess it makes it easier. On Tuesday, Ryan's grandma was put into a assisted living facility. His mom and Aunts can't take care of her anymore and its just easier this way. So we were trying to get her to come here so she can spend time with Grams. I guess the mom doesn't see that my family is down here, Ryans family is down here and its not like we go up (to Tampa, a 4 hour ride to Lakeland to stay at Ryan's brothers house, and then an hour to Tampa and an hour back and then we have to drop her off, so its another hour there and a hour back. We don't mind, but its getting old and want her to know the other side of the family) to see her, at least once a month. But its easier (for us at least) to meet half way and have her here for the weekend. Its 2 hours for us and 2 hours for her, to meet, and then another 2 hours back to the house. And we don't do it every month. We got married in May 2008, and she has been down here 2 times. Once for her birthday, which was a week later, and then once this year to see his Grams. Pretty sad. She doesn't even know Ryan's family and thats his daughter!
So anyways, I dunno now if we are going to be able to get her here for the weekend. I kinda wish he had visitation mandated from the state, but then, what happens? Does she have to meet us half way? Probably not, and then we are in the same boat. At least if it were mandated, we would have certain weekends and could have things planned out, and not have to wait until the last second to plan something. Maybe she doesn't understand that there are 4 families that all need to spend time with his daughter and we all need to share? I dunno. We'll see. They are still trying to work it out, and I it goes through
